Lately I stumbled again on a different behavior of the public build farm and the one that I'm using privately. On the public build-farm the linker version is: ld: Software Generation Utilities - Solaris Link Editors: 5.10-1.500 On my build-farm the linker version is: ld: Software Generation Utilities - Solaris Link Editors: 5.10-1.1505 Their behavior is different, with the oldest version I have undefined symbols when with the newer one those symbols are, rightly, found and consequently defined. I analyzed the context/environment and everything is similar on both platforms with the linkers exceptions. Even the debugging options are different, e.g., -Doutput=file is not supported. I have a test case, quite convoluted, that I can provide if somebody bother to assess. Remark 1: on my build farm, Solaris release is 10 8/11 s10x_u10wos_17b X86 Remark 2: the same issues raises on the SPARC based systems.
