[csw-maintainers] UTF-8 on the buildfarm

Is anyone able to edit files in UTF-8 on the buildfarm? Say, on the
'login' host. On my Solaris boxen, I only need to specify two
environment variables:

> set | grep UTF
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8

Once they're set, I'm able to type the unicode characters in the shell
and in vim. In Solaris 10, that is. For instance

$ uname -a
SunOS sunbox 5.10 Generic_138888-03 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V215
$ echo ąćęłńóśżź
ąćęłńóśżź

On 'login' I can't type these characters at all.

Any ideas?

Maciej
