I see. Perhaps it would make sense to write /opt/csw/var, when you
mean /opt/csw/var. (I know it's written at the top. It's about how
easy it is to read and understand.)

Because of the "everything is under /opt/csw" rule.

syslog-ng defaults to /var/run, but I usually don't allow packages to
install anything outside /opt/csw, so I wouldn't let it use the
default without a reason.
