Speaking about the list of open bugs - in order to do that, we'd need
some sort of interface to poll mantis.  Does anything like it exist
already?  I remember that it had some sort of XMLRPC interface.  Can
you give me any pointers?

Perhaps the devel@ mailing list could receive global summaries? (for
all packages)
