Mabye we should just declare solaris 9 entirely dead instead of just
'best effort'?  We can jump through all sorts of hoops to keep it
going but at the end of the day, we're complicating either recipes or
GAR itself in order to accommodate something the vendor no longer
maintains.  I think we'd be misspending cycles to continue down this
path (and other similar ones that will arise as time passes).
