This could be a workaround:

% cat ~/.fonts.conf

<!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd">
<fontconfig>
<match target="font">
                <edit name="antialias"><bool>true</bool></edit>
                <edit name="hinting"><bool>true</bool></edit>
        </match>
</fontconfig>


Next release of CSWfconfig will address this issue.
