The stable libpango does not use libpangocairo and
there is no
cairo in stable.  The means there are no packages that
depend
on cairo in stable, this is holding stable back at the
moment
- but hopefully for that it works.

Hmm...

1. All issues with cairo are known errors unless it is
something that hasn't been reported yet. I'll provide
a cairo for you to test with your 8-bit issues.

2. Corrupt fonts... I saw the screenshot yet we have
it working fine with the latest packages. I need to
make some configuration fixes for apps in menus and
such.
