Apologies that I'm still beating my head on this one but I'm still not 
near a Solaris box. Can you make sure that the preferences have 
Automatic set for the gstreamer setting and what does the output of 
"gstreamer-properties" give you?

Ken - Is sound broken for you still?

I'm trying to narrow this down so if anyone does have gaim and sounds 
working just fine please let me know.
