[csw-users] GNOME start up scripts

It says to put these in my start up script:

XDG_DATA_DIRS=/opt/csw/share:/usr/local/share:/usr/share
XDG_CONFIG_DIRS=/opt/csw/etc/xdg

Can I put these in /etc/profile or .profile? Where should they go?
