That's often an indication of a misbehaving theme or extension.

Could you maybe try to start SM with a blank profile? To do so, run

seamonkey -profilemanager

Then create a new profile.

I'd think that the message goes away.

After that, try to delete the XUL.mfasl (or whatever it's named) file in the
old profile.
