These are the steps I followed the other day :- 1) On SERVER_A pkgadd -d http://get.opencsw.org/now 2) pkgutil -U -u pkgutil 3) I then wanted to use pkgutil to build a package stream. So I ran :- pkgutil \ --stream \ --target=sparc:5.10 \ --output cups.pkg \ --yes \ --download \ imagemagick coreutils vim ggrep gsed This gave me a file called cups.pkg Plus a list of pkgadd's which I placed into a new shell script called cups_order 4) Copied cups.pkg file and cups_order script to SERVER_B where I want to install CUPS 5) On SERVER_B ./cups_order This ran all the pkgadd's and finished successfully But obviously the following are missing from /opt/csw/bin :- /usr/csw/bin/lp /usr/csw/bin/lpstat /usr/csw/bin/cancel Which is why I sent my original email to you Now your response says :- Haven't you installed the pkgutil tool? You can just execute "pkgutil -i cupsclient". This will install cupsclient with all it's dependencies. Well yes I think I did install the pkgutil tool ... BUT ON SERVER_A (as SERVER_B has no internet access) I want the cupsclient package installing on SERVER_B Please can you tell me how I get cupsclient installed on SERVER_B Also, are the class action scripts new ? Pretty much, yes. It's a real issue, but it was overhyped from the start. Having set up and had printers fail on systems time and time again first see if you can confirm that the printer is working. I have a server with -gt 50 printers configured in it. When I am told an application fails to print. I have a short look around and then ask out printer admin to confirm the printer prints! Often the printer is at fault not the config. Do you have the proper PPD in place for the printer? OR ... Did you check the /etc/host file ... it looks like 127.0.0.1 localhost 123.456.789.99 hostname.domainname.ext hostname loghost 123.456.789.101 PRINTERNAME lpadmin -p -v lpd:// -v lpd:// Using an HP jet direct driver. And it still works on this Solaris 10 server. But SERVERA is being replaced soon with SERVERB (Solaris 10 branded zone), and SERVERB will only accept printers set up via CUPS (hence the pressing need to get CUPS working on SERVERB) The proper PPD file is called Ricoh-Aficio_MP_C4000-pxlcolor-Ricoh.ppd And yes it is in place on SERVERB. However, all I've done with it is place it in directory /opt/csw/share/cups/model I've not done anything at all with the PPD file other than place it in this directory. I have set my printer up using the GUI tool connecting to port 631, not using the CUPS lpadmin command you seem to have used. The only output I seem to be able to get from this CUPS printer at the moment is a test print issued from the GUI (port 631) And even so, all the output seems to say is I am using the wrong driver. So I guess the actual issue is driver-related. Any further help anyone can provide would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks PS One important thing to bear in mind with my printer is :- This Ricoh printer has no postscript capability, so I MUST use a non-PS driver for it. When I am told an application fails to print. I have a short look around and then ask out printer admin to confirm the printer prints! Often the printer is at fault not the config. Message-ID: <5723B5E3.7060809@mosis.com> Will the OpenSSL 1.0.1s package be released? I noticed that OpenSSL 1.0.1s has blocking bugs. Looks like there is some concern that removal of SSL2 will break some things. We don't need 1.0.1s, but the OpenSSL project has announced version 1.0.1t to be released on May 3. It has fixes for some high impact security bugs so we hope to get that version soon after it is released.
