so my take on this is the recommended solution above is asking the user to install the latest ssh client on solaris ( 9?)...<br>

my situation is slightly different, i.e. i connect to the solaris server running openssh ( csw ) from various clients, specifically centos and others in my group use putty from a windows system. <br>
my /var/adm/messages files on the server are constantly filling up with the error message:

and would prefer to eliminate this from my log files...<br>
