Some extra fields will be added: download size, dependancy information, and a (currently blank) 'category' list. At some point in the near future, an updated version of pkg-get will be released, to take advantage of this extra information. A version will be released that will let you know ahead of time, the total byte count needed to do an update. Also, partial "clumped" upgrades will be possible safely. Currently, for safety/supportability reasons, the blastwave-supported "pkg-get upgrade" usage options are: "pkg-get upgrade all" or "pkg-get upgrade [specific list of packages]", where the list of packages, must have all its dependancies up to date. In the future, it will be possible to tell pkg-get , [pkg-get upgrade single-package] and pkg-get will then upgrade that package, its dependancies, and anything else 'touching' those dependancies, but nothing else. (exact syntax for this form of the upgrade command, has not been decided yet. suggestions are welcome) Future updates of the catalog+pkg-get, are intended to provide for gzipped versions of the catalog also.
