From dam at opencsw.org Fri May 28 19:30:12 2010 From: dam at opencsw.org (Dagobert Michelsen) Date: Fri, 28 May 2010 19:30:12 +0200 Subject: [csw-announce] Update to libsigc++ Message-ID: Dear users, we are currently working on rtorrent which requires an updated libsigc+ +. There have been three packages in the past: libsigc++ CSWsigc++ contained 1.2.5 libsigc++_rt CSWlibsigc++rt contained 2.2.3 libsigc++_devel CSWlibsigc++devel contained 2.2.3 To clean this up there have been the following changes: - Remove libsigc++rt as libraries usually don't have runtime-packages - Update libsigc++ to 2.2.7 and change the package name to CSWlibsigc++. - Make the new package CSWlibsigc++ incompatible to the existing CSWsigc++ - Update libsigc++_devel to 2.2.7 Additionally, there have been a number of libraries which depended on the previous packages, but which were not used from other packages within the CSW distribution. These packages have been removed from the catalog and may be re-added if they will be needed again: - CSWgtkmm2 - CSWgtkmmrt - CSWglibmmrt - CSWglibmmdevel Best regards -- Dago From phil at bolthole.com Sun May 30 01:40:05 2010 From: phil at bolthole.com (Philip Brown) Date: Sat, 29 May 2010 16:40:05 -0700 Subject: [csw-announce] Warning: Programs and libraries under /opt/csw/X11 in flux Message-ID: <20100529234005.GA89826@bolthole.com> To our esteemed users: Please be warned -- We are redoing our X11 support strategy at this time. This means that some programs that use libraries under /opt/csw/X11/lib may get broken by updates over the following weeks. We are planning to remigrate X11 support to primarily use Sun X11 libraries, which means refocusing our efforts on libraries directly under /opt/csw/lib. We apologise for any difficulties this may cause you. In extreme cases, we remind you that there ARE older versions of packages kept at http://csw.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/oldpkgs/ , amoung other places, if you find yourself in need of an older package in an emergency. Thank you for your patience. Please know that we are working hard for the end result of a more up to date, and also better performing, X11 experience for you, our users :-) From pfelecan at acm.org Mon May 31 21:19:45 2010 From: pfelecan at acm.org (Peter FELECAN) Date: Mon, 31 May 2010 21:19:45 +0200 Subject: [csw-announce] Update to libsigc++ In-Reply-To: (Dagobert Michelsen's message of "Fri, 28 May 2010 19:30:12 +0200") References: Message-ID: Dagobert Michelsen writes: > the CSW distribution. Not having dependencies on them doesn't mean that there are not users... -- Peter FELECAN mailto:pfelecan at acm.org
