Summary: Window decorations do not update properly
Description:
I'm running Solaris 10 native gnome desktop manager on a SPARC system.
When xv(1) is on the screen, if the control panel gets covered by another
window, including xv's own image display windows, when the overlay window
is removed, the xv window does not update its display (or it fails to tell
gnome desktop manager to do this??) This is very annoying as you must
minimize and then redisplay the window in order to see the buttons.
I have used earlier versions of xv and did not have this problem. This
has been going on for some time, but I am just getting around to reporting
it now. Write to me if you need any additional information.
Regards,

Hmmmm, I installed version 3.10a,REV=2003.06.10 and it still exhibits the
same problem. I can drag another window across the face of the xv control
panel and wipe away all decorations. Since that didn't change anything, I
will reinstall the current version so that we are comparing apples to
apples.
Before using the CSW packages, I used to compile this up myself and don't
remember having these problems. As I said, the problem has been going on
for a while, but I can't say for just how long.
This is the only program that is acting like this on this system. I have
a fully current CSW installation.

The only CSW libraries used seem to be related to translations. Is the
rendering code in libX11?
