Summary: Window decorations do not update properly
Description:
I'm running Solaris 10 native gnome desktop manager on a SPARC system.
When xv(1) is on the screen, if the control panel gets covered by another
window, including xv's own image display windows, when the overlay window
is removed, the xv window does not update its display (or it fails to tell
gnome desktop manager to do this??) This is very annoying as you must
minimize and then redisplay the window in order to see the buttons.
I have used earlier versions of xv and did not have this problem. This
has been going on for some time, but I am just getting around to reporting
it now. Write to me if you need any additional information.
Regards,

The fact the old XV exhibits says it's not directly XV. There are some
corruptions creeping into csw when sub libs are linked to /opt/csw/X11/lib,
I can't see that here. Are any other programs running with XV? XV is old
and might not correctly use some X function but I noticed gnome says 2004
so it's not new either, I assume XV works for you with other window
managers?
