I don't know how, but I managed to make pkgutil choke with the following
error message. -U fixed it, but you might want to catch/suppress the
uninitialized warning.

Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at
/opt/csw/bin/pkgutil line 283.

Fetching of  failed. Try updating your catalog with pkgutil -U.
