ok... I think you're saying that you're ok with the above "consistent"
strategy, so I think I am counting 3 "votes" in favour of the above, and
none opposed so far.

I do agree that in certain areas, our packages are inconsistent. and I
think that we should all be 'encouraged',and encourage one another, to
clean things up.
I for one, will be "cleaning up" my very old and ugly apache1 package, to
finally adhere to the proper standards, of
"writable stuff belongs in /var/opt/csw/pkgname, NOT /opt/csw/var"
and so on.
But that will take a large amount of work, so it's waiting for next weekend
:-/
