Personally, I think we serve our users well, by splitting out jre.

I would guess that a vast majority of people who "need java", actualy
just specifically need the JRE.


Unless the jdk addds only a trivial amount of extra bytes (and I'm pretty
sure it's not trivial! :-) seems like the best thing to do is split em.
I dont see what this "trouble" would be that you reference. Perhaps you
could explain further.
