Freetype was updated to 2.3.8 in February, I think it's already on the 
build farm. (2.3.9 was release in March but I haven't updated yet).

Alexander Maier was working on a new fontconfig, but I don't think it 
has been finished yet.

I guess we should get it sorted out before the Cairo and Pango builds 
get too far along, it be nice if they were built against fontconfig 2.4 
(or later).
