Hooks could do this, but aren't ideally suited to the task. You'd
need to do something like:
prebatch(remove|install|upgrade): Record list of fonts present
postbatch(remove|install|upgrade): Compare current list with previouslist;
trigger font index updates if
difference.
The problems are:
1. The script(s) need to be aware of all different indexes that need
updating.
2. It's not plain pkgadd/pkgrm aware.
Ultimately, class action scripts would be better for this, but since
this whole /usr issue seems so thorny, I'm not sure it will gain
tractaion.
If only Sun hadn't made this such a fundamental flaw. </wishful thinking>
