This may be a silly question, but...
What is the reason behind having "python" (currently 2.3.5) and
"python25" in gar?

I propose:
  1) make "python" latest 2.x release
     (currently 2.6.1)
  2) remove the pythonXX branch
(after the 2.6.1 version leaves testing)
  3) create python3k branch

Let me know if this is feasible.

Thanks,
Mike
