I find the security argument ridiculous given that this is a read only 
application reading stuff from a database. If a person (either because 
of competence or tool chain or any other reason) can't write code that's 
safe enough to be shown to the public, it shouldn't run anywhere.

There are lots of applications which need to be very secure which are 
open source. Why should our source code be different?

Looks like another point we have to agree to disagree on, so ok. It's
