[csw-maintainers] Building MySQL 5.1.x

With help from Derek (aka des on IRC), I'm putting up mysql-5.1 for testing.

I have two questions about mysql-5.1.

1. The mysql user is used by both mysql-5.0 and mysql-5.1 packages.
Its home directory is /var/opt/csw/mysql5 in one package and
/var/opt/csw/mysql51 in the other.  I guess that the final home
directory of this user depends on which package gets installed first:
5.0 or 5.1.  Do you have any suggestions for a better (unified) home
directory for this user?

2. Compilation fails on sparc:

"../include/my_global.h", line 1046: #error: sizeof(void *) is neither
sizeof(int) nor sizeof(long) nor sizeof(long long)
cc: acomp failed for strxmov.c

Is this a known problem with a known fix or workaround?
