If Sun^H^H^HOracle doesn't support it why should we?  I think it made
sense originally to support it for a final release, but we've a year+
out from the EOL date with no stable release on the horizon.

More and more things require extra effort to support on 8, so what's
the actual benefit?

+1 for dropping it.
