well James, the thing is, I've occasionally had the misfortune to be
dealing with a mirror site with reasonable throughput but very very
bad latency.
eliminating a needless new connection was something I really wanted at
those times. so , I coded for it.
and as I said, I'm hoping people can come up with even better
sitefeature suggestions
