Yes, the website presents data from a separate database.  It is
possible to receive notifications about packages becoming available in
two ways.  One is the email sent to the maintainer, and the other is
the RSS feed.  You can look at the following address and subscribe to
an RSS feed with updates to specific catalogs.

It is a temporary location - I think it's a good time to find a
permanent home for these feeds.
