[csw-maintainers] gar and php question

I'm trying to build the php extension for graphviz.

The configure file looks for a php executable to use to extract php
configuration details.

It expects "php" in the regular PATH, but the opencsw php is installed
in /opt/csw/php5/bin/php.


I've tried adding this to my PATH, but configure still doesn't find it.

Q1.  Does GAR restrict or override PATH during builds?

Q2.  Could php be installed (perhaps as a softlink, perhaps as an
alternative) in /opt/csw/bin ?
