I notice your gmetad and apache appear to be running OK, but no nodes
are visible

You can try some of the following tests:

1. telnet to a machine running the node on port 8649

2. svcs | grep cswgmond

You must have cswgmond running on the machine where the apache is
running, or you won't get metrics from any node (the default gmetad
polls the local gmond by default, it can actually be configured in other
ways too)

3. be aware the this gmond version doesn't run on a non-global zone
