I imagine it's an involved process, because you have to model the
whole history of the library by declaring versioned symbols. The
companion CD (is it the one that you have in mind?) presumably did it
already, but behind closed doors. I was curious whether these patches
have been released as open source as part of OpenSolaris. If not, I
guess they have to be written from scratch.
