1. Wihtout a coherent document plan any system can be messy and this is
   tool agnostic.

2. The WYSIWG nature of Confluence editor is, IMHO, inferior to Trac or
   other wiki systems, but this is the opinion of a computer literate;
   even the system used for the manual is better than this.

3. The "social" features of Confluence are annoying warts; really, who
   needs "like" buttons?

4. Everything is inferior in terms of result to LaTeX.

Anyhow, all of the above are subjective and I'll agree with the choice
of those who are working to make things better; if they are.
