it shouldn't take that much time;
define the sqlite database as a publically writable location, have
updates be done by "download the latest db and then mv it into place"
which is atomic.
only thing left is to define export interface from our official file
path database.

you could actually reduce it's code a lot since you won't have to
extract and parse pkgs yourself :)
