Yes, but how should we proceed here? Normally you build on current och unstable hosts depending on which catalog you're targeting but I assume they needed packages from the graphviz project installed during the builds so they used testing and this kind of thing can always happen with testing. Wouldn't it be best to downrev testing9s to match testing9x (at least when it comes to iconv)? I took the liberty of removing the new iconv packages so testing9s and testing9x should now be the same. @PeterF: please give it another try. When I look at the testing servers I see that they diff a lot from the unstable catalog which probably make they somewhat risky to build on. Maybe they should be "reset" from time to time or that large projects like graphviz get their own build hosts. /peter From dam at opencsw.org Wed Jul 6 17:25:09 2011 From: dam at opencsw.org (Dagobert Michelsen) Date: Wed, 6 Jul 2011 17:25:09 +0200 Subject: [csw-pkgsubmissions] Use of testing* In-Reply-To: <1309892637-sup-4928@pinkfloyd.chass.utoronto.ca> References: <201106292024.p5TKOi1P008545@login.bo.opencsw.org> <1309892637-sup-4928@pinkfloyd.chass.utoronto.ca> Message-ID: <1219AD39-B607-4ACB-B6F6-70A762F31F72@opencsw.org> Hi, Am 05.07.2011 um 21:05 schrieb Ben Walton: > Excerpts from Peter Bonivart's message of Tue Jul 05 14:13:08 -0400 2011: >>> Darn... Checkpkg derives the catalog name (e.g.current or unstable) from the host name. It will be necessary to set CATALOG_NAME in system wide garrc. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Submitpkg is only a convenience tool, so its reach is limited. I was thinking about deploying an autoresponder at pkgsubmissions saying something along the lines of "this isn't the package submission mechanism you're looking for". > > > Do we have a plan to backport packages from pkgsubmissions to unstable? > > We should, it's archived so it should be easy to do. Fortunately there aren't many of them. When we're back up, someone will need to go over these and find packages not yet uploaded to unstable. Not everyone used this list either. We will probably have to check the newpkgs dir to make sure. /peter
