Here's the versions I installed to get it working.
http://blastwave.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/oldpkgs/unstable/sparc/5.10/libpango-1.13.5-SunOS5.8-sparc-CSW.pkg.gz
http://blastwave.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/oldpkgs/unstable/sparc/5.10/libcairo-1.2.0,REV=2006.08.02-SunOS5.8-sparc-CSW.pkg.gz
Also, in directory "/opt/csw/etc/pango" make sure you have a copy of the
two files there. Occasionally, one is not created, then just recopy it
over. There's no difference in those files between versions.
$ cd /opt/csw/etc/pango
$ ls -al
total 64
drwxr-xr-x 2 root bin 512 Aug 21 21:14 .
drwxr-xr-x 19 root bin 1024 Aug 21 21:00 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 2540 Aug 11 10:26 pango (copy).modules
