Okay. However, the CURRENT version of Gnome is 2.18,
at this 
point in time. BTW: "modern" was the word ken has
chosen, that's
why I reused it :)

I don't know that, but I assume that, yes. That's why
I'm asking
why time is spend on an obsolete version. Why not
spend it on the
current version?

I am spending time on GNOME 2.18. I'm awaiting for
certain packages to be submitted to unstable as we
speak.

Correctly, GNOME 2.14 and 2.16 are not obsolete
versions - just older stable versions of GNOME. Most
corporate environments usually stay one desktop
version behind the latest version - until the latest
version reaches a revision or two.

Hopefully, we'll have the packages loaded this week so
we can test them during the weekend.
