wxwidgets 2.8 are already ready (without static libs and without with-
opengl) on /testing since dec 20th, waiting for the stable freeze to be 
over.
as far as i remember the static libs were removed 'cause they 
contained local paths (and i was unable to fix this, plus the static 
libs were unuseful so a quick fix was to just remove them, as done with 
other packages too...)
