You can't search the description file in the current pkgutil.
Incidentally your search example just matched the catalog names, that
can be done with -a.

# pkgutil -a otr
otr                  CSWotr               3.2.0,REV=2009.03.30       133.4 KB
otrdevel             CSWotrdevel          3.2.0,REV=2009.03.30        20.2 KB
pidginotr            CSWpidginotr         3.2.0,REV=2009.02.03        80.6 KB

I would like to push out a small update first, after that I can add
this option for you.
