Dago, you seem to be jumping automatically to "let's use hooks",
without considering if things can be achieved another way. I think
there are even MULTIPLE ways the desired behaviour can be achieved,
without using hooks.
hooks should only be used as a *last resort*. (because our packages
should do their best to work with plain old "/usr/sbin/pkgadd", as
well as the more common tools!)
Please examine the alternatives more thoroughly first.
