[csw-maintainers] how to use the gnu linker? or is there anything else what can be done?

No, that'll work fine, defaulting to gcc4.

Ok, if you're already using gcc, then the problem you're fighting is
likely an assumption in configure that when gcc is used, the linker is
gnu-ld. I'd first look to see if configure has a 'magic' option that
can help. Next, I'd look at fixing the assumption in the configure
script (submitting upstream if you craft something general).
I've had trouble trying to override which ld gets used. If you do
resort to this and make it work, I'd be interested in hearing/seeing.
