I tried using your gar stuff... or at least whatever was in trunk...
and it kept gettng wierd on me.
this was with cswx11 I think.

maybe you could start with a "clean" gar, but with your source patches
, for 3.0 and see how it goes.
the one change is no xcb

current9 machines should work. if not please list errors
