PS: I did a little test.
locally compiled gnome-vfs2, WITHOUT fam support.
then removed "libgiofam" from glib2.


when I opened a file in gedit, then tweaked it in another window before saving,
gedit still detected that the file had changed.

SO.... I dont think this is a particularly big deal to lose.
