I'm a supporter of using GCC for the sake of minimal effort, especially
when packaging components usually compiled with. Of course, you're free
to make the world better by enhancing the support of other compilers.

You're right in guessing that there are no C++ ABI issues in this case.

I cannot answer your question as I don't know what's a CSI.
