Well all this maybe true, java is working for me know with Firefox. I
tried various instructions as sugested as to where the symlinks should
go etc. (And of course I accidently removed some libraries installed
by some packages, as noted earlier). But nothing worked and I forgot
about. The we lost power and when the machine came back I had working
java plugin. Just don't ask me to explain why it works now.
