James,

  I really don't know a whole lot about Unix in general... I am trying to develop a PHP website, but I don't have gcc or PHP installed. I was hoping to accomplish this through pkg-get, but no success yet. I don't really know how to trouble shoot to make sure wget is an executable. I did apply the chmod command you gave me, but I still get an error. What can you tell me or help me with to understand how to accomplish my goal? Thank you for your help.

  Oldwen

This is another problem, I thought we'd do the top one first.
I think you need:

$ chmod +x /tmp/wget/wget
