Not necessarily. Here's what would have probably happened if you used GAR:
A surplus-dependency [1] error would be thrown. As far as shared
library analysis goes, checkpkg is almost never wrong about them.
Youd have confidence in the results you're looking at, and you would
not dismiss the error message. If you wanted to see more details, you
would go to the buildfarm database, and look at the package
metadata[2]. You would look at the NEEDED section of your binary, and
see that openssl is not there. At this point you would understand that
the dependency is not necessary.
